Abstract:
This paper presents a layered model that can be used to construct well designedenterprise applications. The proposed model describes how an enterprise application can bedivided into 9 essential layers as follows: Persistence, Domain, Services, Facades, Factories,DTO, Delegates, Application and Presentation. This model encapsulates a clear separationof the roles of each layer. The main goal of the model is to provide all the necessary informationthat the enterprise application designers need in order to build an enterprise applicationbackbone that will support the development of efficient, scalable and maintainable enterpriseapplications. Another goal is to isolate the end programmers from the complexity of enterprisedesign patterns.
